The Stage, The Man and The Woman
From adolescence to adulthood, I’ve always noticed this sense of owning the room or the big shot. This has always been a little off putting to me as it feels very ego driven. Granted in school I was a keep to myself loner and very shy, but outside of school I was a completely different individual. Maybe that’s why I challenged authority more and didn’t really respect those of my peers that played the game. I grew up to devalue the standing individual on the stage or the leader spouting their direction. It felt very self serving and self driven need of importance. Like…
“The Tank is running low, Give me a fix.”
“Fill me up. i’m depleting”
The separation feels unnecessary and inflated. I understand that you have to teach and what’s another method to teach the masses? The more I observe these behaviors in religion, companies, music shows, influencers, etc. it all feels really gross.
Sitting in the office today I find myself back pondering again. Why do we approach things the way we do, in the same fashion of a Fascists. Control? maybe it’s the only way or is it the old way? I have to admit people are difficult, fickle and unpredictable, but in some way it still feels very dated; very dictatorship (i.e. China, the nazi , the military, presidency)
There has got to be a new formula for leadership, So I decided to turn to google to search for alternative ways, but everything presented itself as “How to own the room”, “How can you build praise and attention from others as you explain, teach or lecture”.
The tech industry and business seems very scholastic or Ivy League. Not a world i’m too familiar with, but i’ve notice the lack of life experience. We regurgitate so many things that we read and do, we are now the generation of copycats, especially in this tech industry.
We are leaders of replication and duplication.
Sameness is our future…
For some of us we have been self taught and put in the actual work. We didn’t drive our worth for letters, numbers or a piece of paper. I would say my generation was on the brink of the rebirth of the self taught. Some of us made the sacrifice, like a starving artist struggling to make it day to do. There are a lot of individuals who did not. There are a small percentage of us who were born with the Gen-z bug more than the millennial.
We are here to challenge what has been told and done. The ego driven masculine culture and habits that have made the world what it is today. I am beyond thankful for that, but our world is different, our habits and approaches should evolve as well. Let’s break down this very old archaic and rigid historic view points.
ink to the page running through my thoughts, take them with a grain of salt. Please comment if you feel the need.
Thanks.
